Overview

This position is responsible for posting payments, adjustments, and rejections to patient accounts in accordance with current policy and procedure.

Responsibilities

 

  • Responsible for billing for services provided to nursing home patients (dental, podiatry, audiology, and optometry)
  • Responsible for EMR system
  • Responsible for posting payments: from insurance companies, receive incoming mail and post money, receive incoming payment notifications from banking and find E.O.B. and post them, ERA payment post (auto post back), manual payment posting, identify any errors that are reoccurring and report them to the manager, balancing at the end of shift, work any rejections received that are straight forward, and correcting errors on accounts with regards to payments
  • Sends for review all zero dollars, denials and underpaid amounts that fall outside clients’ collection policy.
  • Makes line-item adjustments, as directed, for all zero pays and denials.
  • Ensure correct payment processing.
  • Abide with HIPPA and PHI guidelines at all times.
  • Actively supports and complies with all components of the compliance program, including, but not limited to, completion of training and reporting of suspected violations of law and Company policy.
  • To work remotely, it is expected you will have a reliable, nonpublic high-speed internet connection with sufficient bandwidth to participate in all work-related activities. Any interruptions in service should be immediately reported to your manager.  
  • Reacts positively to change and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1+ year posting experience in a medical setting required.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficient with Windows, MS Office, Outlook, and Internet Explorer
  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrates and independent work initiative, sound judgment and strong work ethic.
  • Works cooperatively in a team atmosphere
  • Ability to multi-task
