Overview

The senior applications administrator is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of insurance application management from coding and processing to policy distribution. This role is also responsible for assisting with personnel training and mentorship, having a strong understanding of insurance regulations, attention to detail, and strong technical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Translate complex insurance policy requirements and parameters into system-specific code, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in application processing.
  • Facilitate the end-to-end processing of new insurance applications, including data entry, verification, and adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Accurately and timely prepare, review, and distribute term letters and other essential policy-related communications to clients.
  • Maintain and update administrative systems, troubleshooting data issues and generating reports as needed.
  • Act as a subject matter expert, providing guidance and support to colleagues on application coding, processing, and system functionalities.
  • Deliver training programs for new and existing personnel on insurance application procedures, system usage, and compliance best practices.
  • Ensure all processes adhere to relevant federal and state regulations and internal policies, including HIPAA compliance where applicable.
  • Provide exceptional service to internal and external clients, addressing inquiries and resolving issues related to insurance applications and policies.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and overall service delivery.
  • Actively supports and complies with all components of the compliance program, including, but not limited to, completion of training and reporting of suspected violations of law and Company policy.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all information; abides with HIPAA and PHI guidelines at all times.
  • To work remotely, it is expected you will have a reliable, nonpublic high-speed internet connection with sufficient bandwidth to participate in all work-related activities. Any interruptions in service should be immediately reported to your manager.  
  • Reacts positively to change and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Ability to work independently and with other team members.
  • Associate’s degree or 4-7 years of related experience in insurance administration or a similar field.
  • Proven experience with insurance application coding and processing along with insurance application coding languages and platforms.
  • Must have proficiency in Microsoft office Suite and insurance administration software.
  • Excellent technical, interpersonal, oral, attention to detail and written communication skills.
  • Strong ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Must be detail oriented and self-motivated.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to anticipate needs in a proactive manner to increase satisfaction.
