Overview

This role uses data insights to improve patient care quality, outcomes, and experiences. It develops analytics and reporting solutions to meet these goals. The individual consults on clinical and population health analytics, using advanced skills to interpret complex data patterns. They communicate findings and recommendations to aid decision-making. Clinical informatics and medical knowledge are crucial for success.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the design, development, and delivery of clinical and population health analyses, metrics, and reports by leveraging clinical, patient, financial, and administrative data.
  • Identifies and monitors opportunities to enhance healthcare outcomes, quality, and cost-effectiveness, while efficiently managing projects to successful completion.
  • Builds and maintains strong, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders across clinical, administrative, operational, financial, and technical domains to ensure analytics are actionable and aligned with organizational goals, priorities, and available resources.
  • Shows a strong history of data-driven discovery, intellectual curiosity, and dedication to using data to address critical questions in clinical care and population health.
  • Acts as a strategic partner by offering thought leadership and subject matter expertise, proactively identifying opportunities and leading the design and execution of analytical solutions that address key business and clinical needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to informally lead matrixed teams of technical, clinical, administrative, financial and operational staff to achieve shared organizational objectives and strategic goals.
  • Offers mentorship and expertise in technical, business, and subject areas to colleagues, promoting analytical excellence and knowledge sharing.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills with team members, stakeholders, executives, and customers. Exceptional written and oral presentation abilities. Proven interpersonal and technical communication with both technical and non-technical audiences, internal and external. Capable of leading through influence.

  • Demonstrates a thorough understanding of a company’s ability to work through formal and informal channels.
  • Actively supports and complies with all components of the compliance program, including, but not limited to, completion of training and reporting of suspected violations of law and Company policy.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all information; abides with HIPAA and PHI guidelines at all times.
  • To work remotely, it is expected you will have a reliable, nonpublic high-speed internet connection with sufficient bandwidth to participate in all work-related activities. Any interruptions in service should be immediately reported to your manager.  
  • Reacts positively to change and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree preferred, bachelor’s degree in public health, Nursing, Economics, Health Sciences, Informatics, Biostatistics, Statistics or related healthcare field and 2 years of relevant work experience or a total of 8 years of relevant work experience required.
  • A minimum of 7 years in leading design, execution and dissemination of clinical and population health reporting, analyses and studies of progressive scope and complexity.
  • 7 years of experience with analytical software/ systems, tools and processes using claims, clinical, enrollment and provider data.
  • 5 years of project leadership and of providing analytical consultation to clinical, administrative, operation and financial stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of relational databases, quantitative and qualitative analytic methodologies, advanced analytics and statistics.
  • Obtains extensive knowledge about the healthcare environment including trends concerning health insurance, healthcare delivery, provider relationships and regulatory issues.
  • In-depth understanding and experience with both clinical and business processes, and the ability to identify opportunities and create new process improvement strategies.
  • Ability to work independently and with other team members.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Must be detail oriented and self-motivated.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to anticipate needs in a proactive manner to increase satisfaction.
